Olga Sergeyevna Kusenkova

Olga Sergejewna Kusenkova ( Russian Ольга Сергеевна Кузенкова , English transcription Olga Kuzenkova ; born October 4, 1970 in Smolensk ) is a former Russian hammer thrower . She was an Olympic champion in 2004 .

Career

In 1997, she became the first woman to exceed the 70-meter mark. She won silver at the 1998 European Championships in Budapest , the 1999 World Championships in Seville , the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton . A gold medal at the 2002 European Championships in Munich was followed by another silver medal at the 2003 World Championships in Paris . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , she won the gold medal with 75.02 m in front of the two Cubans Yipsi Moreno and Yunaika Crawford .

At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka , she failed in qualifying. After failing to qualify for the 2008 Olympics, she resigned.

Olga Kusenkowa had a competition weight of 76 kg with a height of 1.76 m. Her best length of 75.68 m she achieved on June 4, 2000 in Tula .

doping

In March 2013, a banned substance was found in a subsequent doping test of a urine sample from Kusenkova in 2005. She was subsequently suspended from 2005 to 2007 and the 2005 World Cup victory was revoked.
