Australia was represented by two athletes. Both finished in the top three in every event they participated in. Frederick Lane won two swimming competitions. Stan Rowley won one competition on the UK mixed team that did not and also came in three third places in athletics.

Non-Olympic competitions
Donald Mackintosh was a professional marksman from Melbourne . He traveled around Europe and participated in a number of traditional competitions. He won the '' Prix Centenaire de Paris '', a competition in which real city pigeons were shot, with 22 pigeons in 22 shots in front of the Spanish Marquis de Villancosa . He reached third place at the '' Grand Prix de l'Exposition '' with 18 kills. The International Olympic Committee does not recognize this competition as Olympic.
