After his gold medal in the standing vault and two days earlier in the standing long jump, Raymond Ewry was already a double Olympic champion here in St. Louis. He should also win the triple jump that was due later. In the end, he had repeated his victory from four years ago in all three standing jumping competitions and was already six times gold medalist after these games.
The information on this discipline is slightly different in all the sources used here. This applies to the height information, which differs significantly, especially for the winner, the placements and the question of who was there as a participant. The different versions are shown in the tables above.
Second place was decided by a playoff in which Joseph Stadler prevailed against Lawson Robertson. Stadler also only took part in the standing jump competitions and later also won bronze in the triple jump from standing. Robertson also took part in the 100-meter run , where it was sixth. The Olympic champion of the 110 meter hurdles Frederick Schule was also involved in the standing vault, according to Kluge .
Bronze medalist Lawson Robertson, also sixth in the 100-meter run
Frederick Schule, Olympic champion in the 110 meter hurdles, was probably also a participant in the standing vault
