The women's saber fencing competition at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro took place on August 8, 2016 in the Arena Carioca 3 . The Russian Jana Jegorjan became Olympic champion. Silver went to Sofja Velikaja (also from Russia) ahead of Olha Charlan from Ukraine, who won the bronze medal.
