Oranjemund is the smallest of six constituencies in the South Namibian region of ǁKaras with 9837 inhabitants (2011) and an area of 4623 square kilometers . It essentially covers the northern lower reaches of the Orange River and thus forms a border area with the Republic of South Africa . The district administration is located in the village of the same name Oranjemund .
The Oranjemund district also includes the villages of Rosh Pinah , Witputz and Sendelingsdrift . A road to Keetmanshoop and Lüderitz leads through the Hunsberge and the Fish River Canyon . On the other side of the river is Alexander Bay and Richtersveld National Park .
