Orestes Júnior Alves (born March 24, 1981 in Lavras , Minas Gerais ; called Orestes ) is a Brazilian football player .
Career
Orestes, who was part of Brazil's Olympic selection in 2002, came to Europe via the Brazilian clubs FC São Paulo , Portuguesa Santista and FC Santos in 2002 and played for five Portuguese clubs in the Liga de Honra and the SuperLiga in five years . In the 2002/03 season , Orestes was elected the best central defender in the SuperLiga in the service of Belenenses Lisbon .
For the 2007/08 season Orestes moved to FC Hansa Rostock in the German Bundesliga , where he signed a two-year contract. With 2835 minutes of play in 32 games, Orestes was the player with the longest playing time during the season in which Rostock was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . After one season he moved to the Greek club Veria FC . In 2014 he signed a contract with the Saudi Arabian association al-Arabi (Qatar) . He has been under contract with al-Shahania SC since 2014 .
