Orhan Naci Akyüz (born May 15, 1954 in Hereke ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. Through his many years of activity he is associated with Galatasaray Istanbul .

Career

Akyüz was born in Hereke , a district of the district town of Körfez . He started his professional football career with the then second division club and Kocaelispor, which was based in his home province .

In the summer of 1977 he moved to the first division and reigning Turkish champions Trabzonspor . This club reached in the first division season 1975/76 completely surprisingly the championship. Up to this season, the three big Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş Istanbul , Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul decided the championship of the Süper Lig among themselves. With Eskişehirspor , another Anatolian club narrowly missed the championship three times, but the ban remained. It was only solved with Trabzonspor's championship. After this championship, this club also dominated the league the next season and, in addition to the championship, also collected all other trophies in Turkish football by winning the Turkish Football Cup and the Turkish Supercup . Akyüz won a regular place straight away after moving to Trabzonspor. However, his club awarded the championship to Fenerbahçe in the 1977/78 season with a point difference, but was able to get the two remaining cups. After this setback, the team recovered relatively quickly and again became Turkish football champions and also the President's Cup winners in the next season, the 1978/79 season . Akyüz was the most successful goalscorer of his team with his ten league goals and played a key role in this success.

After this successful season for Akyüz, Akyüz's team had several transfer offers. Akyüz moved to Istanbul's top club Galatasaray in the summer of 1979 , becoming the first player to move from Trabzonspor to Galatasaray. Moved to Galatasaray, he quickly found the team and completed 23 of the 30 possible league games in his first season. His club experienced the most difficult time in its history and was faced with relegation until the end of the season. In the new season, the club recovered from the previous season and finished the league in 3rd place in the table. Akyüz completed 22 league games this season and was either substituted on or off in most of these games. In the new season, he remained almost without use and only completed one league game. His team won the Turkish Football Cup and TSYD Cup this season . In addition, his team won the Devlet Başkanlığı Cup .

After Akyüz only came to a game in the 1981/82 season, he left Galatasaray in the summer of 1982 after three years and moved to Sakaryaspor . At this club he did not manage to assert himself as a regular player in one season. So after one season he moved on to his old club Kocaelispor . Even with this club he did not manage to fight for a regular place. In the summer of 1984 he then moved to the second division Kayserispor . With his new team he was in the second division season 1984/85 champion and rose to the 1st league . Although Akyüz could not assert himself within the team in this promotion season, he was retained in the team squad. In the first league, he immediately won a regular place, completed almost all of his team's games and eight league goals as the most successful goalscorer of his team. Since the team missed relegation at the end of the season, Akyüz went with her back to the 2nd league. In this league he played two seasons for Kayserispor.

In the summer of 1990 Akyüz moved to the third division Ümraniyespor , spent a season here and ended his playing career in the summer of 1990.
