society

Oscar was in Santa Barbara d'Oeste in the state of São Paulo born. In his youth Oscar played at Uniao Barbarense and most recently at São Paulo FC . Since 2008 he has been running for the professional team of the first division club from São Paulo . In two years he was rarely used and in 2010 moved to league rivals SC Internacional . On June 21, 2012 he returned to São Paulo FC. A Brazilian labor court declared the termination of the contract with the association null and void; the contract with Sao Paulo lasts until 2013. They later agreed on a transfer fee of around six million euros, so that Oscar could continue to play for SC Internacional. It was the highest amount paid in the Brazilian league to date.

A month later, however, Oscar moved to the English first division club Chelsea . After a few match days, Oscar earned himself a regular place in the Premier League and contributed seven assists in addition to four goals in his first season. In the Champions League , despite five goals in six games, he was unable to prevent Chelsea from being eliminated in the preliminary round. Oscar was often only a substitute at games in the Europa League . In the final win against Benfica Lisbon , however, he was on the pitch for the full time.

In his second season with Chelsea, Oscar played a good first half of the season in the Premier League, but could not confirm these performances in the second half. Nevertheless, he managed to increase his goal yield compared to the previous year and he scored eight goals in five assists. As in the previous year, Chelsea finished the season as the third best team in the English league. In the Champions League things went much better for Oscar's club this season, and the Brazilian played his part with five preparations up to the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals against Atlético Madrid , however, Oscar was not used due to persistent hip problems and had to watch his team drop out of the competition.

In November 2014, Oscar extended his contract to June 30, 2019.

On January 1, 2017, Oscar moved to Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League for around 71 million euros .

National team

Oscar with the Brazilian national team (2014)

He won the 2011 U-20 World Cup with the Brazilian team . In the final against the Portuguese team , Oscar scored all three goals at 3-2 after extra time . Nobody had succeeded in this before in a final of this competition.

After good performances at the U-20 World Cup and at the club, Oscar was appointed by Mano Menezes for the squad of the Brazilian national team. On September 15, 2011, he made his debut against Argentina . In 2012 he took part with the Olympic team at the Olympic Games in London , where Brazil wanted to win the gold medal for the first time. In the final, however, Brazil had to admit defeat to the Mexican team 1: 2 . Oscar was used in all six games and scored the last goal in the 3-1 win against Belarus.

In 2013 Oscar won the Confederations Cup with the Brazilian national team . He was in the starting line-up in all games and prepared for Neymar's 2-0 victory in the final . At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Oscar was also in the starting line-up in all seven games. In the opening game he scored the final score in a 3-1 win against Croatia . In the semi-final game against the German selection , he scored the goal to 1: 7. After another 3-0 defeat against the Netherlands in the third place match, the Seleção finished fourth in the 2014 World Cup.

After Oscar had played in China for three years, he was open to playing for the Chinese national soccer team . However, since Oscar has already played 48 times for Brazil, it is unlikely that FIFA would grant him such special permission.
