The gmina wiejska Ostrów Wielkopolski is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Ostrów in the Greater Poland Voivodeship . Its seat is in the city of Ostrów Wielkopolski (German Ostrowo ). The rural community, to which the city of Ostrów Wielkopolski itself does not belong, has an area of 208 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 19,121 people live.
geography
The rural community is located in the south of the voivodeship. It is divided into an eastern and a western part by the city of Ostrów Wielkopolski.
history
From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Kalisz Voivodeship . The villages of Sobótka , then Sobótka Wielka, and Kwiatków had city rights in the past .
Community structure
The rural community of Ostrów Wielkopolski consists of 34 school districts: Będzieszyn, Biniew, Borowiec, Cegły, Chruszczyny, Czekanów, Daniszyn, Franklinów, Gorzyce Wielkie, Górzenko, Górzno, Gutów, Karski, Kołwąków, Lewleców, Lewleców, Lewleców, Osków, Oskow, Osów, Osów, Łąkociny, Mazury, Michałków, Młynów, Nowe Kamienice, Radziwiłłów, Sadowie, Słaborowice, Smardowskie Olendry, Sobótka , Szczury, Świeligów, Topola Mała, Wtórek, Wysocko Wielkie and Zacharzew.
Other localities are: Baby, Bagatela, Biłgoraje, Borowina, Fabryka, Jamy, Kamionka, Kąkolewo, Onęber, Rejtanów, Sobczyna, Stary Staw, Trąba, Warszty and Zalesie.
