The gmina wiejska Ostrów Wielkopolski is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Ostrów in the Greater Poland Voivodeship . Its seat is in the city of Ostrów Wielkopolski (German Ostrowo ). The rural community, to which the city of Ostrów Wielkopolski itself does not belong, has an area of ​​208 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 19,121 people live.

history

From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Kalisz Voivodeship . The villages of Sobótka , then Sobótka Wielka, and Kwiatków had city ​​rights in the past .
