Ostrolenski ( Russian Остроленский ) is a settlement (possjolok) in Nagaibakski rayon of Chelyabinsk Oblast in Russia with 2,021 inhabitants (14 October 2010). It is the administrative center of the rural community Ostrolenskoje selskoje posselenije with a total of three villages.

The Gumbeika , a left tributary of the Urals, flows to the east and south around the town . The place has 21 streets and is connected to Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk by the 75К-004 road.

history

Ostrolenski was founded in 1842 and initially had the status of a military settlement as Post No. 2 of the Orenburg Cossack Army in the Nowolineiny rajon . The name was chosen in memory of the Battle of Ostrołęka (Russian Остроленка , Ostrolenka ), which took place on May 26, 1831 during the November uprising in Poland .

In 2017 the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Skoroposluschnitsa" was built in the town center .
