Oswald Wutzke (born April 28, 1936 in Dubeczno , Poland ) is a German theologian and politician ( DA , later CDU ).

Life and work

Wutzke was born in Dubeczno in the Polish district of Chełm in 1936 . During the Second World War , he moved with his family to Grobia in the Międzychód County in 1940 . In 1945 his family moved to Western Pomerania and settled in Bandelin .

After attending school, Wutzke completed an apprenticeship as a gardener with pre-deacon training and internships in social institutions in 1953/54. From 1954 to 1959 he attended the church college in Potsdam - Hermannswerder and then began studying theology, which he completed in 1963. After the vicariate in Hohenbollentin 1963/64 and the seminary in Brandenburg an der Havel 1964/65 he worked as a pastor in Hohenreinkendorf and Gartz from 1966 to 1990 .

From 1994 to 2000, Wutzke worked as a special commissioner for the Federal Government at the Federal Ministry of the Interior . In this role he established connections between Germans from Russia living abroad and the federal government. In July 2002 he became provost of a provost in the North Caucasus belonging to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Central Asia .

Political party

After the political change in the GDR , Wutzke joined the Democratic Awakening (DA). In January 1990 he was head of the political department of the DA and then until April 1990 DA Secretary General. On October 4, 1990, he joined the CDU.

Public offices

From April to October 1990, Wutzke was State Secretary in the Ministry for Economic Cooperation. On October 27, 1990, he was appointed minister of education to the government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania led by Prime Minister Alfred Gomolka . On March 16, 1992, he resigned together with the Prime Minister, but remained a managing member of Prime Minister Berndt Seiten's cabinet until March 30, 1992 and was then replaced in his office by Steffie Schnoor .
