The Otterbach is a 4.2 km long orographically right tributary of the Inde in the western Rhineland , North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
It is located entirely in the urban area of Eschweiler in the Aachen city region and rises in the Bovenberg Forest near the municipality boundary to Langerwehe in the Düren district . It flows in a straight line through the eastern Nothberg parallel to the Omerbach . In the vicinity of the Nothberg Castle it changes its direction strictly to the east along the railway embankment and flows into the Inde at Weisweiler .
Due to the very similar spelling, it is sometimes confused with the Omerbach in historical documents.
In March 2004, the dead end of Heisterner Straße in Nothberg with the numbers Heisterner Straße 67 to Heisterner Straße 89 was renamed to Am Otterbach after long pressure from the residents .
