Otto Haibach

Otto Haibach (born June 24, 1897 in Eppendorf ; † May 5, 1999 in Essen ) was a German cartographer and mine explorer .

Life

Family and education

The Evangelical baptized Otto Haibach, son of the office manager Georg Haibach and its Spouse Karoline born Schranz, put the Abitur at the Goethe-Gymnasium from Bochum. He then turned to the study of natural sciences at the RWTH Aachen University , the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn to where he in 1925 to Dr. phil. received his doctorate .

Otto Haibach married Maria, née Reinhertz, in 1932. This marriage had two sons named Helmut and Reinhard. He died in May 1999 at the old age of 101 in Essen.

Professional background

After completing his studies, Otto Haibach held a position as a scientific assistant in Bonn, in 1930 he moved to the Zeche Zollverein of the former Rheinelbe Bergbau AG in Essen-Katernberg , in the role of a mining and surveying council , in 1948 he was appointed as a Markscheider , in 1962 he left.

In addition, Otto Haibach held lectures at the Clausthal Mining Academy, which was renamed the Clausthal University of Technology in 1968 .
