Otto Heinrich von Laxdehnen

Otto Heinrich von Laxdehnen (* 1717 in Schettnienen ; † April 4, 1802 in Spittels) was a Prussian major general , chief of the fusilier regiment No. 51 and governor of Zinna and Rügenwalde .

Life

The three brothers in the Laxdehnen family were raised to the nobility on April 20, 1731 under King Friedrich Wilhelm I. His father was the Dragoons - Captain Johann Laxdehnen, who was raised to the peerage on 2 June 1732nd

Von Laxdehnen was in the body regiment of the guard when the previous king, Friedrich Wilhelm I, died. He was followed in 1740 by Friedrich II. This restructured his army by distributing many of his officers to other regiments. On August 4, 1740, Laxdehnen was assigned to the new 1st Battalion of the Life Guards as a previous ensign , with the rank of second lieutenant . On October 27, 1745 he became Premier Lieutenant , in October 1754 staff captain , in July 1756 company commander and shortly thereafter major . In 1761 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and on May 1, 1761 commander of the Küstrin fortress . In May of 1765 he was appointed colonel and in January 1770 major general. In 1773 he took over the newly established fusilier regiment "Krockow" No. 51 and lost the regiment in the same year.

Lax stretching served in the First and Second Silesian Wars and the Seven Years' War . He was rewarded several times for his services by King Friedrich II. In addition, he received the office of Zinna on May 6, 1765 and that of Rügenwalde on December 14, 1769. In 1770 he received the order Pour le Mérite . On January 10, 1773 he received his dismissal due to illness.

In 1802 he died unmarried.
