Otto Leible

Otto Leible (born January 21, 1927 in Waldshut ; † June 1, 2004 ) was a German administrative officer, local politician ( CDU ) and district administrator of the Lörrach district .

Life

Training and World War II

Leible attended elementary school and the secondary school in Waldshut, where he passed his school leaving examination in 1946 after the end of the Second World War . In 1943 Otto Leible was drafted first as a flak helper , then regularly as a Wehrmacht soldier , and was taken prisoner by the Americans. He then studied law and political science in Freiburg. In 1951 Leible passed the first , in 1954 the second legal service examination.

Activity in local government

After several positions as a government assessor in the district offices of Konstanz and Stockach , he became government councilor and first state official in Donaueschingen in 1958 , then mayor in Schwenningen in 1964. From 1968 to 1972 Leible was first district administrator in the district of Säckingen , then from 1972 initially as an administrative administrator .

District Administrator in Loerrach

From January 1, 1973, Leible was district administrator in the district of Lörrach. As District Administrator of Lörrach, Otto Leible promoted various larger construction projects in the district in particular. For example, the construction of the Markus Pflüger retirement home in Wiechs from 1979 to 1985, the construction of the district retirement home in Weil am Rhein with various extensions from 1974 to 1986 and the completion of the Rheinfelden district hospital in 1975.

In relation to the state government Lothar Späth, he persistently advocated a social burden compensation between the Baden-Württemberg districts.

Under Leible, waste disposal in the district was restructured into waste management. The various rubbish dumps in the district were removed and brought together in the new Scheinberg central landfill in order to better counteract the risks of water and air pollution.

Otto Leible held his mandate until July 17, 1989, after which he retired.
