Heinrich Graser

Heinrich Alfred Graser (born June 9, 1887 in Waldshut ; † May 14, 1957 in Lörrach ) was a German lawyer and Lord Mayor of Lörrach from 1927 to 1933 .

Graser passed his state examination in 1913 and, with a doctorate in law, initially worked as a court assessor at the local courts in Neckarbischofsheim , Durlach and Karlsruhe , as well as the city administration of Konstanz . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier and after his return he was with the public prosecutor's office in Lörrach from December 1919. In 1921 he became legal counsel in the city administration of Lörrach and was responsible for welfare, housing, the municipal court and the police. On May 23, 1923 he was elected second mayor of Lörrach and in 1927 to succeed Erwin Gugelmeier as Lord Mayor. During his tenure, the schoolhouse of the Fridolin School in Stetten was rebuilt, the waterworks expanded, the local history museum opened and he tried to alleviate the economic hardship caused by inflation . On June 29, 1933 he was dismissed from office in the wake of the National Socialist " seizure of power " and took part in the Second World War as an officer. After the war Graser was initially Counsel of Kraftübertragungswerke Rheinfelden and 1948-1955 District Administrator of the district Lörrach .
