Owadne (Ukrainian Овадне ; Russian Овадное / Owadnoje , Polish Owadno ) is a Ukrainian village in the oblast Wolyn . It is located in the Wolodymyr-Wolynskyj district , about 10 kilometers northeast of the district capital Volodymyr-Wolynskyj and about 68 kilometers west of the Oblast capital Lutsk on the Turija River.
On June 23, 2016, the village became the center of the newly established rural community of Owadne (Оваднівська сільська громада / Owadniwska silska hromada ). At that includes also the 17 villages Bilyn (Білин) Hajky (Гайки) Halyniwka (Галинівка) Hewyn (Гевин) Jahidne (Ягідне) krasnystaw (Красностав) Lisky (Ліски) Ljudmylpil (Людмильпіль) Markeliwka ( Маркелівка) Ochniwka (Охнівка) Pyssarewa Wolja (Писарева Воля) Ruda (Руда) Samosty (Замости) Suswal (Сусваль) Swijtschiw (Свійчів) Werba and Wolja-Swijtschiwska (Воля-Свійчівська) until there was the Village together with the villages of Markeliwka , Suswal and Werba the district council of the same name.
The village was mentioned in writing in 1545 for the first time and belonged to the third partition of Poland the nobility Republic of Poland (in the province of Volhynia ), then came to the Russian Empire , where the government Volyn was. In 1918/1921 it fell to Poland and came as Owadno to the Volyn Voivodeship in the Powiat Włodzimierz , Gmina Werba . As a result of the Hitler-Stalin Pact , the Soviet Union occupied the area. After the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, the place was under German rule until 1944 (in the Reichskommissariat Ukraine ), then came back to the Soviet Union after the Second World War and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . Owadne has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
Between 1946 and 1958, Owadne was the district center of the Owadne district of the same name , which emerged in 1946 from the Werba district and was attached to the Volodymyr-Wolynskyj district in 1958.
The railway line from Kovel to Wolodymyr-Wolynskyj leads past the village , where a train station was opened in 1908, which had a positive impact on the town's economic growth.
