The gmina wiejska Ozorków [ ɔˈzɔrkuf ] is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Zgierz in the Łódź Voivodeship . Its headquarters are in the city of Ozorków . The rural community, to which the city of Ozorków itself does not belong, has an area of 95.5 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 7003 people live.
geography
The rural municipality is located in the north of the voivodeship and includes the city of Ozorków to the west, north and east. 78% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 13% is covered with forest.
history
The predecessor communities of today's rural community, Gmina Leśmierz and Gmina Tkaczew, existed until 1954 . From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Łódź Voivodeship .
