Educational panther

The Pedagogical Panther is the highest award for schools and people involved in education in the state of Styria . The award has existed since 1999. It is named after the country's heraldic animal, the Styrian panther .

Awarding and organization

The prize is awarded by:

• Styrian regional association of parents' associations at public compulsory schools (LV-EV)
• Regional association of parents' associations at middle and higher schools in Styria 
• Regional association of parents' associations at Catholic private schools in Styria
• Department for school psychology educational advice at the regional school board for Styria

Depending on the year, the prize is donated by local economic operators such as banks.

The prize is awarded in two categories.

Prize for excellent teachers or teaching teams

“Single price for excellent pedagogical achievements in teaching and supervision . To be nominated are teachers and other educators who have made a special contribution to the quality of their teaching and the support part in the day school , to maintaining relationships with the students and / or to quality initiatives at their school. "

Today 3 main and 3 honorary prizes, the main prize is awarded in the age groups 6-10 year olds, 10-14 year olds, 15-19 year olds.

Award for excellent schools

“The school prize is awarded to the respective school as a whole for special efforts in the pedagogical design of lessons, care and school life. A holistic approach to teaching and learning , the assumption of responsibility for results as well as contributions to a meaningful rhythmization of learning and recreation should be appreciated. "
