Pablo Puyuelo (born November 23, 1993 in Jaca ) is a Spanish ice hockey player who has been under contract with CH Txuri Urdin in the Spanish Super League since 2011 .

Career

Pablo Puyuelo began his career as an ice hockey player with CH Jaca from his hometown Jaca , for whom he played in the super league since 2009 . In 2010 and 2011 he was Spanish champion with the Aragonese team and also cup winner in 2011 . After winning the double in 2011, he moved to the Basque Country to CH Txuri Urdin , for whom he has also been active in the super league since then. With the team from Donostia-San Sebastián , he won the Spanish ice hockey cup in 2016 and became Spanish champion a year later.

International

For Spain , Puyuelo took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in Division II in 2010 and 2011 and the U20 World Junior Championships in Division II in 2011 , 2012 and 2013 . At the U18 World Cup in 2011 and the U20 World Cup in 2013, he was honored as the best player in his team. He also represented the Spanish selection at the Winter Universiade in 2011 in the Turkish Erzurum and 2015 , when the ice hockey competitions in the Spanish Granada were held.

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships of Division II in 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , when he was voted the best player of his team in 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . The Spaniards only narrowly missed promotion to Division I in 2012 with a 5-3 defeat against Estonia , which Puyuelo's goal at the meanwhile 4-3 could not avert. It was even closer four years later when the Spaniards had to accept a 2-3 defeat against the later promoted from the Netherlands after two-thirds after a 2-0 lead after two-thirds . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 . Puyuelo has been the team captain of the Iberians since 2016.
