Pak Nam-chol (born October 3, 1988 in Pyongyang ) is a North Korean football player .

Career

Pak appears internationally as a player in the DPR Korea League for the Amrokgang sports group , the club of the Ministry of State Security.

The defender was a regular at the U-17 World Cup in Peru in 2005 and failed with the team in the quarter-finals after extra time against Brazil. In 2006, he won the U-19 Asian Cup with the U-20 team under captain Kim Kum-il . Because of this success, he took part in the U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2007 . He formed the central defender pair with Ri Kwang-hyok during the tournament, but two points were not enough to advance in a group with the later finalists Czech Republic and Argentina.

This was followed by missions in the North Korean Olympic team (U-23), so it was used at the East Asian Games in 2009 , where they just missed a medal rank due to two lost penalties in the semi-finals and the game for third place.

Pak made his debut in the North Korean national team in 2007 in the two first-round games of the World Cup qualification against Mongolia. In 2008 he led the national team at the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 as captain , but failed with the "B selection" due to a 0-1 defeat in the semi-finals. Two years later he was part of the squad again at the AFC Challenge Cup 2010 and achieved the associated qualification for the 2011 Asian Cup with the team by winning the final over Turkmenistan . Pak was used in all five tournament games.

At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa , Pak was part of the North Korean squad , but was not used in the preliminary round.
