Pamela Tajonar Alonso (born December 2, 1984 in Cuernavaca ) is a Mexican soccer goalkeeper who was last under contract with Western New York Flash in the National Women's Soccer League in the 2013 season.

Career

Tajonar began her professional career in 2002 with the Querétaro Fútbol Club in her Mexican homeland before moving to Puebla FC , where she was under contract until 2005. During this period she also played one season on loan at the franchise of Arizona Heatwave in W-League .

In the 2010 season Tajonar ran on for the championship team of Buffalo Flash before moving to Spain for Atlético Málaga . From there she moved on to the Swedish first division club LdB FC Malmö , for which she only played two season games when the goalkeeper Þóra Björg Helgadóttir was suspended as a result of a red card . Therefore, Tajonar moved again in 2012 to Spain to the first division promoted FC Levante Las Planas , for whom she was between the posts in 14 season games. At the beginning of 2013, Tajonar was assigned to Flash in the so-called player allocation of the newly founded NWSL franchise. She made her league debut on July 21, 2013 against Sky Blue FC shortly before the end of the game as a substitute for goalkeeper Adrianna Franch .

National team

Tajonar took part with the U-19 team in the U-19 World Cup for women in 2002 , but was only in goal in the 1: 3 against Germany that would later be third . On November 2, 2002, she played in qualifying for the 2003 World Cup against Trinidad and Tobago for the first time for the Mexican national team . This was followed by the two intercontinental playoff games against Japan , in which Mexico missed the qualification. In 2004 she competed with Mexico in the 2004 Summer Olympics and was used in two games. After a 0: 5 in the quarter-finals against Brazil , Mexico was eliminated. In qualifying for the 2007 World Cup, Mexico had to make the playoffs and again the opponent was Japan. Tajonar was in goal in the 2-0 draw in Japan, but not in the 2-1 second leg, which was not enough for qualification. Four years later, Mexico qualified for the 2011 World Cup and Tajonar was the second goalkeeper in the squad. But the only 16-year-old third goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago was used . Both are again part of the Mexican squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada, Tajonar again as goalkeeper number 2, Santiago this time as number 1.
