Adrianna Nichole Franch (born November 12, 1990 in Salina , Kansas ) is an American soccer goalkeeper .
Career
In early 2013, Franch was committed to the college draft for the newly founded NWSL in the first round in sixth position of the Western New York Flash franchise . She made her league debut on the first day of the season against Sky Blue FC and was also on the starting line-up of the Flash in the remaining 21 games of the regular season . Franch showed consistently good performances in her first professional season, was able to achieve the best scores in the categories of thwarted goalscoring opportunities and goals conceded per game in the league and came second in the annual elections for the best young player and best goalkeeper. She missed the 2014 season due to a ruptured cruciate ligament in preparation for the season. The Flash signed Australian Lydia Williams as a replacement, but she suffered a cruciate ligament rupture during the season. After the 2014 season, Franch's contract was not extended, she then joined the Norwegian first division club Avaldsnes IL . With Avaldsnes she was runner-up behind Lillestrøm SK Kvinner in the 2015 season and returned to the United States for the 2016 season, where she joined Portland Thorns FC .
National team
From 2010, Franch was part of various US youth national teams. She took part with the U-20 team in the U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany in 2010 , but was not used there. After taking part in a training camp for the senior national team in preparation for the Olympic Games in May 2012, national coach Tom Sermanni appointed her to the squad for two friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands for the first time in March 2013 , but did not play . Franch finally played her first full international match six years later, on March 2, 2019, against England . On May 1, she was nominated for the 2019 World Cup as the player with the fewest international matches . At the World Cup she was not used.
