Paper Lion (Original title: Paper Lion ) is an American film comedy from 1968. It is the film adaptation of the book by the same property, Paper Lion by George Plimpton , which is based on a true story.

Because the writer George Plimpton is trying to research the life of a quarterback for an article in Sports Illustrated , he offers himself to several NFL teams as an amateur quarterback . But everyone except the Detroit Lions rejects him. So he attends their training camp incognito and finds out that the professional athletes are almost knocking him out.
