Paramount Airlines was a helicopter - airline from Sierra Leone , headquartered and based in Freetown .
Since a crash in 2007, the operating license has been withdrawn by the Sierra Leonean Aviation Authority. Paramount Airlines is (as of June 2016) on the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union .
Destinations and fleet
Paramount Airlines operated a shuttle service with their helicopters between the Mammy Yoko Helipads in Freetown and Freetown International Airport . In the early 1990s, flights were also operated to Abuja in Nigeria , among others .
Paramount Airlines deployed four Mil Mi-8 helicopters.
Incidents
On June 3, 2007, a Paramount Airlines helicopter crashed again. 22 passengers were killed at Freetown International Airport, including a high-ranking sports delegation with the Sports Minister from Togo .
