Pascal Eisele (born December 27, 1992 in Fahrenbach ) is a German wrestler . He finished 5th at the 2013 European Championships in Tbilisi in the Greco-Roman style welterweight . In 2016 he became European champion in the weight class up to 80 kg body weight and in 2017 he won a bronze medal in the same weight class at the World Championships in Paris.
Career
Pascal Eisele began wrestling as a teenager at SV Fahrenbach , focusing on the Greco-Roman style. He later switched to KSV Schriesheim and is now fighting for the 2013 German team champion, ASV Mainz 1888 . He is a member of the German Armed Forces and was or is trained by Baris Baglan, Jannis Zamanduridis and Michael Carl.
In 2008 he started for the first time at an international championship, the Junior European Cadet Championship in Daugavpils. In the weight class up to 63 kg he came in 19th place. In 2009 he won a bronze medal in the weight class up to 69 kg at the same championship in Zrenjanin . 2012 Pascal Eisele was German junior welterweight champion and finished 5th at the junior European championship in Zagreb in welterweight.
In 2013 he competed in an international men's championship for the first time. He defeated Rafiq Hüseynov , Azerbaijan, Jonas Bossert, Switzerland and Seref Tüfenk from Turkey at the European Championships in Tbilisi . In the semifinals he lost to Zurab Datunashvili from Georgia. In the consolation round he was defeated by Božo Starčević from Croatia in the battle for a bronze medal and thus finished 5th. At the German men's championship in 2013 he came third behind Florian Neumaier and Jan Rotter.
In 2014, Pascal Eisele became German senior champion for the first time in the new weight class up to 80 kg body weight, defeating old master Konstantin Schneider in the final . Internationally, however, he has not yet been able to establish himself properly in this weight class. He finished 18th at the European Championships in Vantaa / Finland after a first-round defeat against Giorgi Zirekidse, Georgia, and at the German Grand Prix in June 2014 in Dortmund he did not achieve a top place. At the 2014 World Cup in Tashkent, he took revenge in his first fight against Giorgi Zirekidze, but lost his next fight against Božo Starčević from Croatia. Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and came in 8th place.
At the 1st European Games in Baku in 2015, Pascal Eisele started again in the weight class up to 75 kg. He just missed the bronze medal in the fight against Dimitri Pischkow from Ukraine. At the 2015 World Championships in Las Vegas, he won his first fight against the Palestinian Rabbia Khalil, again in the weight class up to 75 kg, but was defeated in his next fight against the former world champion Saeid Mourad Abdvali from Iran and came in 15th.
In March 2016, Pascal Eisele started at the European Championships in Riga in the weight class up to 80 kg body weight. With victories over Krister Aalander, Finland, Rajbek Bisultanow, Denmark, Daniel Alexandrow Tichomirow, Bulgaria and Edgar Babajan , Poland, he secured the European title. He decided all four fights prematurely and achieved a total of 28: 0 points in his favor. However, he then missed qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, for which he had to train back to the weight class up to 75 kg, which weakened him permanently.
In September 2016 he won the military world championship in Skopje, where he was able to compete again in the weight class up to 80 kg. At the 2016 World Championships in the non-Olympic weight classes in December 2016, he reached 7th place.
At the European Championships 2017 in Novi Sad, Pascal Eisele disappointed, because he lost his first fight there in the weight class up to 80 kg against Petr Novak from the Czech Republic and only reached 13th place. So it went all the better at the 2017 World Cup in Paris, because there he fought his way in the same weight class after a victory over Aslan Atem, Turkey, a defeat against Maksim Manukjan , Armenia and victories over Alex Kessidis , Sweden and Surabi Datunashvili from Georgia shortly before the end of the fight he even shouldered a bronze medal with a remarkable head pull.
In the following years he could not build on these successes - also due to injury. In 2018 he competed at the World Championships in Budapest in the weight category up to 77 kg, but lost his first fight there against the Croatian Bozo Starcevic. Since he did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only finished 27th.
In 2019 he was again German champion in the weight class up to 82 kg, ahead of Lucas Lazogiannis from Weil im Dorf. In August 2019 he prevailed against Hannes Wagner (wrestler) from AC Lichtenfels with two narrow wins on points (3: 2 and 4: 3) in the wrestling of the starting place for the world championship this year in the weight class up to 82 kg .
