Patrício José Hanrahan

Patrício José Hanrahan CSsR ( Patrick Joseph Hanrahan ; born October 24, 1925 in Dublin , Ireland ; † May 25, 1993 ) was an Irish religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Santíssima Conceição do Araguaia .

Life

Hanrahan joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in Dundalk at and received on August 16, 1953 in Galway , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of Santíssima Conceição do Araguaia on January 29, 1979 . The Archbishop of Fortaleza , Aloísio Cardinal Lorscheider OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on April 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Belém do Pará , Alberto Gaudêncio Ramos , and his predecessor Estêvão Cardoso de Avellar OP , Bishop of Uberlândia .

With the elevation of the territorial prelature to the diocese of Santíssima Conceição do Araguaia on October 19, 1979 he was appointed its first diocesan bishop .
