Patrik Anttonen (born March 6, 1980 in Örebro ) is a Swedish football player . The defensive player, who made his debut for the Swedish national team in 2009 , has been under contract with Örebro SK since 1999 .

Career

Anttonen started playing football at Ervalla SK before joining Örebro SK in 1999 through the youth departments of Hovsta IF and BK Forward . He made his debut in the men's team in April of that year in the Svenska Cupen at his new club, which was competing in the Allsvenskan . In the 1999 season , in which the club was only able to maintain relegation in the relegation games against Assyriska FF , he came on the second day of the 1-0 win over IF Elfsborg as a substitute for his first division debut.

Initially, Anttonen remained under coach Sven Dahlkvist and from 2000 also under his successor Mats Jingblad mainly the role of substitute player. In the course of the 2001 season he prevailed and earned a place in the regular formation, so that he was in all of the 26 season games of the Swedish elite series on the field in the following season. In terms of sport, he reached midfield with the team, but due to financial irregularities in the 2004 season, the license was withdrawn and the club was forced to relegate to the Superettan .

Anttonen stayed loyal to ÖSK and joined the club in the second division season in 2005 . Although the team under the coaching duo Patrick Walker and Urban Hammar initially only reached a fifth place in the table, the following year succeeded as runner-up behind Trelleborgs FF and after 52 second division games he returned to first division football. As a regular, he contributed to staying up and performed well in the 2008 season . As a result, he received several offers from Sweden, but also from abroad, from the Norwegian club Sogndal Fotball , and was appointed to the national team by national coach Lars Lagerbäck . On a US tour of the national team, he sat on the bench when he met the US national team and made his national team debut in the 1-0 win over Mexico with a goal from Alexander Farnerud , which he made his full playing time.

Anttonen stayed with ÖSK despite the offers and was one of the pillars of the defensive in the 2009 season until he injured himself in August. After his return to the field, he was again a regular and placed sixth and third with the team in the front division. The 2011 season was overshadowed by injuries that only allowed five season appearances.
