Patryk Wronka (born August 28, 1995 ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with GKS Katowice in the Ekstraliga since 2017 .
Career
Club
Patryk Wronka began his career in the youth division of the Polish record champions Podhale Nowy Targ in the second-class I league . In 2013 he rose to the Ekstraliga with the club from Malopolska , where he played for the next three years. In 2016, Orli Znojmo from the Austrian Ice Hockey League moved to the Czech Republic , but was unable to assert himself there and therefore returned to Poland in 2017 and plays there for GKS Katowice .
International
For Poland, Wronka took part in the junior division I of the U18 World Junior Championships in 2013 and the U20 World Championships in 2014 and 2015 , when he was the second best preparer of the tournament behind the Kazakhs Nikita Michailis .
He made his debut in the men's national team in February 2016 in the first round of qualification for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , which was held in Budapest. He scored the 1-0 opening goal in the 6-2 opening win against Estonia . He was then also appointed to the squad for the 2016 Division I World Championship , where he was voted the tournament's best striker and the All-Star team. After he was used in the second round of the Olympic qualification, he played again in Division I at the 2017 World Cup .
