Paul Heinrich Tilio de Camas
Paul Heinrich Tilio de Camas (* 1688 in Wesel ; † April 14, 1741 in Breslau ) was a Prussian colonel , head of Infantry Regiment No. 37 and personal friend of Friedrich II.
He was the son of the Prussian lieutenant colonel Franz Thilo de Camas († November 23, 1702), who served in the cuirassier regiment (Lottum) with garrison near Wesel in Westphalia. Like many Huguenots , the family had fled to Brandenburg from persecution in France.
Life
At the age of 13 he entered Prussian service. In 1705 he became an ensign in Regiment No. 13 (Varenne). With this he took part in the War of the Spanish Succession as part of the Brandenburg troops . He lost his left arm during the siege of Pizzighettone in 1706. He was given a prosthesis that he used with great skill. On July 21, 1711 he became a captain and on June 25, 1725, a lieutenant colonel. On November 26, 1726 he became Drost von Petershagen near Minden. Around the same time he also became governor of Prince Friedrich. In 1736 he took over as chief of Infantry Regiment No. 37 . In June 1740 he was sent to Paris by King Friedrich II. On his return he became head of a newly established fusilier regiment.

He was married to Sophie Caroline von Brandt . She was chief steward of Queen Elisabeth Christine of Prussia and was elevated to the rank of count on August 11, 1742. Her father was General Wilhelm von Brandt .
