Paul Mühlmann (also Mülman, Mülmann; * 1609 , baptized October 17, 1609 in Leipzig , † 1642 in Weißenfels ) was a German Protestant pastor in Reichardtswerbe and Weißenfels and also a poet .

Life

Paul Mühlmann studied with his brother Christian II. Mühlmann at the University of Leipzig and in 1629 received a master's degree in philosophy. He knew the poeta laureatus Paul Fleming and in 1632 dedicated a poem De rautato magistrorum creationis tempore to him, written in Breslau . Mühlmann must have been a student in Breslau in 1632: “Mag. Paul Mülmann from Leipzig was noticed as a particularly hard-working listener on the university's lists. But what wages his studies in Breslau or elsewhere would like to have has remained unexplored. " Two occasional writings mark an important private event in the life of Fleming's and Mühlmann's friend Samuel Michael (* 1597 in Dresden, † 1632 in Leipzig), organist at the Nikolaikirche Leipzig between 1628 and 1632: Paul Mühlmann sang on July 21, 1632 the “Praise of Marriage / / auff / / Mr. Andreas Oehlen / / bookseller in / / Leipzig / with Jungfraw // Anna Kerstin / // wedding ”(print: Abraham Lamberg). And the same occasion was the “Gereris Freuden Fest”. Mühlmann was a pastor in Reichardtswerbe from 1636 to 1642, and finally in Weißenfels , where he died in 1642 at the age of 32.
