Paul Reeves (singer)
Paul Reeves (born May 31, 1974 in Oxford , England ) is a British opera singer ( bass ).
Life
He studied with Rudolf Piernay at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama . He played and sang a. a. the following roles: Colline ( La Bohème ), Betto ( Gianni Schicchi ), Basilio / Bartolo ( The Barber of Seville ), Sparafucile ( Rigoletto ) and Gremin ( Eugene Onegin ). He has sung at the English National Opera , Scottish Opera , Welsh National Opera and at the Wexford Music Festival , among others . He has received several grants and music awards. At Opera Holland Park he appeared as Wurm ( Luisa Miller ), Graf Ribbing ( Un ballo in maschera ) and in 2006 also as Sparafucile . Abroad, Reeves made guest appearances at the Tenerife Opera House , in Dublin at the Anna Livia International Opera Festival and at the Toulon Opera House ( Mr. Olson in Street Scene ).
Reeves is also extensively active as a concert singer . In March 2009, he sang with the Philharmonia Orchestra Mozart Requiem at a performance in the Cathedral of Guildford . Reeves performed as a bass soloist in May 2009 at the Royal Albert Hall with Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem . In January 2010 he sang the bass part in Beethoven's 9th Symphony in D minor op.125 with the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra . In March 2010 he sang Beethoven's Missa solemnis with the South Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra and the Sheffield Oratorio Chorus in Sheffield Cathedral .
Reeves went on 2 September 2006 with the former Bro'Sis - singer Ross Antony , with whom he in Siegburg lives, a registered partnership. The preparations for the celebration were broadcast in the soap Ross & Paul in love on Sat.1 - the tabloid magazine Blitz . In addition, Reeves and Antony worked on a joint album in the style of pop / opera. Her duet Before God all people are equal was released in spring 2008 on the musical single Endlich da . In 2010 Reeves and Antony renewed their oath of loyalty in the Maldives and tied the knot for the second time. On May 26, 2014, partner Ross Antony announced that the couple had adopted a child. For this they would both have fought for many years. Reeves has been married to Antony since December 2017.
