Paul Richardson (* 13. April 1992 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American American football player at the position of wide receiver . He played college football for the University of Colorado Boulder before being selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft . After two seasons for the Washington Redskins, he is back for the Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Richardson attended Junípero Serra High School in Gardena and Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos , California. As a wide receiver, he scored 1,984 yards and 28 touchdowns by passing catches during this time . He also represented his schools in basketball and athletics .

Richardson first attended the University of California, Los Angeles , where he was kicked from the football team after a short time after he and two teammates were arrested for theft. He then moved to the University of Colorado Boulder , where he was used in all twelve games of the season that year and caught 34 passes for 514 yards and six touchdowns. As a sophomore, he got 39 pass catches for 555 yards and five touchdowns in nine games a year later. He completely missed the 2012 season because of a torn cruciate ligament . He returned in 2013 and set a new school record that season with catches over 1,201 yards. After that season, he announced that he would be participating in the 2014 NFL Draft .

NFL

The Seattle Seahawks selected Richardson in the 2014 NFL Draft as the thirteenth player in the second round (45th overall). He caught his first pass in the NFL against the Denver Broncos on game day three. He scored his first touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers on matchday fifteen. In his rookie season he scored a total of 271 yards and a touchdown by 29 pass catches. In the divisional play-off game against the Carolina Panthers he tore a cruciate ligament again, which ended the season for him. Without him, the Seahawks reached Super Bowl XLIX , where they lost to the New England Patriots .

After his injury, he was only in three games in the squad in 2015 before he suffered another injury and had to end this season early.

On March 13, 2018, Paul Richardson joined the Washington Redskins . There he signed a $ 40 million contract with a term of five years. On February 14, 2020, Richardson was sacked by the Redskins. On August 29, 2020, Richardson was re-signed to the Seahawks.
