Paul Alfons Christian Steinebach (born March 31, 1927 in Breitenau (Westerwald) ; † March 26, 2017 in Siegen ) was a German architect , urban planner and university professor .

Life

Paul Steinebach studied architecture and urban planning at the Technical University of Darmstadt and worked in Düsseldorf . He started in 1984 at the University of Hanover with the work investigation of high medieval cities. City foundations, condominiums and privileges Archbishop Engelbert I of Cologne as Dr.-Ing. PhD . He held the professorship for urban development and regional planning at the University of Siegen, now the University of Siegen , and was the dean of the architecture department for many years.

From 1983 to 1994, Steinebach was chairman of the Siegerland Homeland and History Association . Among other things, he founded the book series “Contributions to the history of the city of Siegen and the Siegerland”.

Paul Steinebach was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land and was a member of the German Association of the Holy Land . In 1989 he was the Cardinal Grand Master John Patrick Foley Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem and appointed on May 20, 1989 in Mainz Cathedral by Bishop Anton Schlembach , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy, the Order invested .

In 1954, Steinebach joined the Catholic student union WKSt.V. Unitas Palatia (UV) in Darmstadt. Paul Steinebach was married to Karin geb. Helmets; there are two daughters from the marriage.
