Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof (born March 13, 1989 in City of Westminster , Greater London , † April 7, 2014 in Wrotham , Kent ) was a British model , fashion columnist , presenter and DJ . The daughter of Irish rock musician Bob Geldof and TV presenter Paula Yates also became famous for her reality show Teenage Mind .

Life

Private

Peaches Geldof was the second child of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates . Her sisters are Fifi Trixibelle Geldof (* 1983) and Little Pixie (* 1990), as well as half-sister Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof (* 1996). Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 when Peaches was 11 years old . The coroner emphasized that in the case of Paula Yates there was no suicide , but that her death was probably the result of "careless and stupid use" of the opioid mentioned .

Peaches Geldof grew up in Chelsea, lived in Williamsburg , New York City and attended New York University . She was married to the musician Max Drummey from August 5, 2008 to February 12, 2009. Geldof had been an avowed Scientology member since 2009 . Most recently, however, she is said to have turned to the controversial Ordo Templi Orientis . On September 8, 2012, she married Thomas Cohen, with whom she had two sons, who were born in 2012 and 2013.

Career

Geldof wrote and produced her own reality show Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind (2005), then Peaches Geldof: Teen America (2006). She worked as a guest reporter for Tonight with Trevor McDonald . She has also written articles for The Daily Telegraph , The Guardian and Elle Girl . In 2006 she was ranked seventh in Tatler's Top Ten Fashion Icons , and she was the youngest on the list. In 2007, readers of FHM magazine voted them 53rd out of the 100 “Sexiest Women in the World”. In November of that year it was reported that Peaches had been offered to host a newer version of The Tube ; the music show that made her mother famous in the 80s. In 2007 she walked the catwalk for PPQ at London Fashion Week , she was also known as the face of Australian clothing line Dotti . She and her friend Fifi Brown performed as a DJ duo under the name Trash Pussies. In September 2007 she was in the British magazine Hello! seen in three dresses that are said to have been Marilyn Monroe's film costumes. There was an exhibition with Peaches Geldof's photo shoot Lost Collection by William Travilla . Her show Peaches: Disappear Here premiered on November 19, 2008, but found few viewers and received a lot of negative reviews. From 2009 to 2010 she was under contract with the underwear brand Ultimo. This was broken up after nude photos and drug allegations surfaced on the Internet, which Geldof denied. In 2011, Geldof presented the series OMG! with Peaches Geldof at ITV2.

death

On April 7, 2014, Peaches Geldof was found lifeless at her home near Wrotham, Kent. A toxicological exam found that she had used heroin shortly before she died, which was likely part of the cause of death. Geldof's heroin addiction had been known for a long time, but it was considered drug-free after methadone therapy . Suicide rumors surfaced, mainly based on her last tweet the day before her death, in which she posted a photo from her childhood of her as a little girl in her mother's arms, to which she wrote: “Me and my mum ". Thomas Cohen stated that Geldof relapsed in February 2014 and has since been addicted to heroin again. Further investigations therefore began on July 23, 2014. In October 2014, Bob Geldof confirmed that he had known about his daughter's heroin addiction for two and a half years and felt jointly responsible for her death.
