On July 1, 2011, Pedley was merged with Glen Avon , Mira Loma , Rubidoux and Sunnyslope to form the town of Jurupa Valley .

history
The place name Pedley comes from the English cricketer William Pedley , who was the manager of the San Jacinto Land Company in Riverside . William Pedley invented a new irrigation system that he used. The place has had his name since 1903 or 1904 when the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad (SP & LASL) built a train station with a switch in Pedley. The viaduct-like concrete railroad bridge over the Santa Ana River was once the longest concrete railroad bridge in the United States .
On March 8, 2011, the citizens decided with 54.03% yes-votes to merge the cities of Mira Loma , Pedley, Rubidoux , Glen Avon and Sunnyslope to form the new City of Jurupa Valley . The decision took effect on July 1, 2011.
