Jurupa Valley is a city in Riverside County in the US state of California . In 2011 Jurupa Valley was founded by merging five previous census-designated places .

Jurupa Valley covers an area of 112.7 km², of which 112.1 km² is land and 0.6 km² is water. In 2011 the population was estimated at 94,235; reliable data cannot be determined because the city did not yet exist at the time of the 2010 census .
Jurupa Valley is bounded to the south and east by the Santa Ana River , to the north by San Bernardino County and to the west by Interstate 15 .
Jurupa Valley is divided into ten districts: Mira Loma, Glen Avon, Sky Country, Indian Hills, Pedley, Rubidoux, Belltown, Jurupa, Jurupa Hills and Sunnyslope.
history
Jurupa Valley was created on July 1, 2011 by amalgamating five previous census-designated places , namely Glen Avon , Mira Loma , Pedley , Rubidoux and Sunnyslope . On March 8, 2011, the population had previously decided in favor of the merger with a share of the vote of 54.05 percent.
Already in 1992 there had been considerations to found the city, but the citizens voted against both this variant and the one to declare only Mira Loma a separate city.
In September 2013 it was announced that Jurupa Valley might want to return its town charter. The last time a city in Riverside County was dissolved in 1972 .
