Oasis is a census-designated place in Riverside County in the US state of California . The town has 7,797 inhabitants (of July 1, 2017) to approximately 98% of Spanish descent ( Hispanics ), and is located in the southeastern foothills of the Coachella Valley near the Salton Sea .

Oasis is located in the southern, central part of Riverside County in the US state of California . The village belongs to the Coachella Valley . To the north of it are the places Mecca and Thermal as well as the city of Coachella . The Salton Sea begins to the east of Oasis .

The community is on California State Route 86 .

The place has 6890 inhabitants (status of the 2010 census ). The majority of the population consists of Latinos . Oasis covers an area of ​​50.843 km², which consists entirely of land; the population density is therefore 135.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. The center of the village is at an altitude of −44 meters and is therefore - like the whole of the east of the Coachella Valley - below sea ​​level .
