Bermuda Dunes was formerly called Myoma . The settlement was developed in 1962 by Ernie Dunlevie and Ray Ryan. Clark Gable owned a house in Bermuda Dunes along with other celebrities .

Bermuda Dunes is located in central Riverside County in the US state of California . The village is bordered by Palm Desert to the west, La Quinta to the south and Indio to the east and north . Interstate 10 runs along the northern city limits .

The name is derived from the "Bermuda Dunes Country Club ", which opened in 1962 and used to be the venue for the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament.
