Bermuda Dunes was formerly called Myoma . The settlement was developed in 1962 by Ernie Dunlevie and Ray Ryan. Clark Gable owned a house in Bermuda Dunes along with other celebrities .

Bermuda Dunes is located in central Riverside County in the US state of California . The village is bordered by Palm Desert to the west, La Quinta to the south and Indio to the east and north . Interstate 10 runs along the northern city limits .
The place has 7,282 inhabitants (as of 2010) and covers an area of 7,630 km², which is made up entirely of land; the population density is thus 954.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. The center of the village is at a height of 29 m.
The name is derived from the "Bermuda Dunes Country Club ", which opened in 1962 and used to be the venue for the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament. There are ten other golf clubs within a five-mile radius today, including Sun City Palm Desert . Palm Springs Airport, Bermuda Dunes Airport, is part of Bermuda Dunes .
