The community owes its name to the Whitewater River .

Whitewater is located in the northern part of Riverside County , California . Located between the San Bernardino Mountains and San Jacinto Mountains , the wind is almost constant; The reason for this is the Venturi effect . This results in good site conditions for wind farms .
