Desert Palms is located in the central part of Riverside County in the US state of California . The cities of Indio , Palm Desert and Indian Wells as well as the census-designated place Bermuda Dunes are in the immediate vicinity .

The place has 6957 inhabitants (status of the 2010 census ). Desert Palms extends over an area of ​​6.9 km², which with 6.916 km² consists almost entirely of land; the population density is thus 1006 inhabitants per square kilometer. The center of the village is at a height of 34 meters.
