Pedrinate was until 1975 with the Seseglio fraction a political municipality in the Balerna district, in the Mendrisio district of the canton of Ticino , and has since been part of the Chiasso municipality .

The southernmost point of Switzerland is located in the south of Pedrinate .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1291 under the then name Pedrenate . The village was already a parish under the Duke of Milan .
