Pekařka

Pekařka (German Bäckenhain ) is a district of the municipality Bílý Kostel nad Nisou in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers southeast of Hrádek nad Nisou and belongs to the Okres Liberec .

geography

Pekařka is located northwest of the Jeschkengebirge in the basin of the right tributary to the Lusatian Neisse in the Zittau basin (Žitavská pánev). To the north rises the Landův kopec (372 m), in the east the Hlásný vrch ( Siebenfichten , 374 m) and in the northwest the Liščí kopec ( Fuchsberg , 346 m) and the Pískový vrch ( Stenker , 347 m).

Neighboring towns are Václavice in the north, Dolní Vítkov and Vysoká in the east, Dolní Chrastava and Chrastava in the southeast, Bílý Kostel nad Nisou in the south, Dolní Suchá in the southwest, Chotyně in the west and Grabštejn in the northwest.

history

Bekenhain was founded in 1711. The small settlement belonging to the Grafenstein lordship was also referred to as Böckenhain , Bökenhein and Beckenhain in the course of its history . The inhabitants of the village made a living from agriculture.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bekenhain formed from 1850 a district of the political community Weisskirchen in the district of Reichenberg and the judicial district of Kratzau . In 1908 the village , now known as Bäckenhain , consisted of 21 houses and had 94 inhabitants. All of them were Catholics and belonged to the German ethnic group. The place of the church of St. Nikolaus in Weisskirchen was parish. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Bäckenhain was added to the German Reich in 1938 as part of the municipality of Weißkirchen an der Neisse and belonged to the Reichenberg district until 1945 . After the war, which took place the expulsion of the German population. In 1946 the place was named Pekařka . Pekařka has retained its purely agricultural character to this day. In 1991 the place had 161 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 10 houses in which 21 people lived.
