Pete Dye
Paul "Pete" Dye Jr. (born December 29, 1925 in Urbania , Ohio - † January 9, 2020 in Gulf Stream , Florida ) was an American golf architect . He has designed over 100 golf courses with his company Dye Designs , including the TPC Sawgrass with the Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida and Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, as well as Whistling Straits in Sheboygan , the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta or Harbor Town Golf links at Hilton Head Island .
