Peter-Christian Fueter (pronounced [fuətər] ; born December 28, 1941 in Zurich ) is a Swiss film producer .

Life

Peter-Christian Fueter studied German and theater studies until 1966 . After dropping out of his studies, he initially worked as an assistant director at international theaters and operas . In 1966 he joined the company of his famous father Heinrich Fueter and worked as a recording , production manager , producer and managing director for Condor Films .

From 1972 he produced business and documentary films , later TV shows , TV series and feature films . In 1998, at the behest of the majority shareholder at the time, TA-Media, Condor Films left the risky feature film business. Therefore Fueter founded in 1999 with the Condor-producer Peter Reichenbach and Edi Hubschmied the C-FILMS AG , which he presided by 2010. In this role he produced the Swiss soap “ Lüthi und Blanc ”. In addition, he continued to regularly oversee feature films and television films, such as “ Grounding - The Last Days of Swissair ” or as a co-producer “ Mein Name ist Eugen ”.

Not only Fueter's father was an artist, his mother Anne-Marie Blanc was considered the “grande dame” of Swiss film. And his children Tobias and Benjamin work as directors and actors in the same industry.

Between 1966 and 1985 Fueter received hundreds of national and international awards for corporate and documentary films as well as for TV shows and movies. Between 1986 and 2000 his projects received awards at festivals in Berlin , Cannes , Venice , Karlovy Vary , Moscow , Annecy , Locarno and New York , among others .

In 1991 Fueter received an Oscar in the category “Best Foreign Language Film” for “Journey of Hope” by Xavier Koller .
