Peter H. Jahreling (born July 2, 1956 in Hoxhohl ) is a German director , actor and acting teacher.

Live and act

Before starting his acting training, yearling trained to be a master farm and horse manager . Parallel to this work, he gained his first stage experience in projects as a tap dancer and with his own productions, such as a Goethe evening or projects on García Lorca , which he later dealt with again and again. He received his acting training from Dominique de Fazio in Rome and Los Angeles and graduated with a qualification. He worked as an actor at the Neue Bühne Darmstadt, at the Freie Schauspielensemble Frankfurt, the Theater Neu-Ulm , Theater Wrede (Oldenburg) , the Theaterwerkstatt Hannover and at Artscenico in Dortmund, where he also worked as a dancer . Since 2006 he has been working closely with his wife Marijke Geschäftsling in the Compagnie Schattenvögel , an ensemble in which he has worked continuously as a director ever since.

Together with his wife, he runs the West Side Theater in Darmstadt, which opened in October 2012 . In addition to its own productions, the Esoc Theater with its performances in English and French was an integral part of the program in the first few years . In addition, there were jazz concerts with established soloists and newcomers , for which Marijke Jahresling, who is also a singer , was responsible. The theater also offered dancers the opportunity to introduce themselves to an audience with their own performances and thus develop their stage language. The venue has since been relocated from the inner-city Landwehrstrasse in Darmstadt to a former freight yard on Industriestrasse in Darmstadt-Eberstadt . All ancillary activities are to be continued there. The jazz program should become more international, but also the promotion of young talent should not be neglected. Cooperation with external ensembles such as the Esoc Theater is also to be expanded.

Peter H. Jahreling has been teaching acting since 2007 and successfully preparing for the entrance examination for drama schools , coaching existing ensembles and offering appropriate courses. Yearling developed his own acting technique, which he calls the "theater of poetic realism".
