Peter Nieuwerf

Peter Nieuwerf (* 1938 in Utrecht ; † March 27, 2015 ) was a Dutch easy listening and jazz guitarist .

Live and act

Peter Nieuwerf began his music career with Wim Sonneveld and played a. a. with Stéphane Grappelli , Rita Reys , Ramses Shaffy and Jasperina de Jong . He appeared with Rogier van Otterloo and Robert Long in the Dutch television shows De Stratemaker-op-zee-show , De Fabeltjeskrant and Sonja's Goed Nieuws Show , and as a musician in the television series Oebele (1968/69) and Kunt u mij de weg naar Hamelen, mijnheer? (1975/76). From the 1980s he concentrated more on jazz , u. a. as accompanist for Greetje Kauffeld . In 1996 he appeared with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in New York's Carnegie Hall in a performance of Shostakovich's jazz suites . With Armando he had a gypsy jazz quartet. In the field of jazz he was involved in 16 recording sessions between 1966 and 2011. a. with Mat Mathews , Rogier van Otterloo, Chris Hinze , Ruud Brink , Johnny Meijer , Cees Small , Pia Beck , Georgie Fame and most recently with the singer Gerie van der Kiel .
