Peter Roed (born November 15, 1976 in Saint Paul , Minnesota ) is a retired American ice hockey player who has spent five seasons in North American minor leagues . In Germany he played for the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League and for SC Bietigheim-Bissingen in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Career

Peter Roed began his career at White Bear Lake High School in the state of Minnesota . In the 1995 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the second round in 38th place by the San Jose Sharks . For the 1995/96 season, the American moved to the Prince George Cougars in the Western Hockey League . There he played for two years and scored 74 points scorer.

The center made his professional debut in March 1997 when he played a few games for the Louisville Riverfrogs in the ECHL . The next season Roed spent mainly with the Kentucky Thoroughblades in the American Hockey League , the then farm team of the San Jose Sharks, who signed him in August 1997. In 1998/99 he was active for the Richmond Renegades , with whom he lost to the Mississippi Sea Wolves in the final of the Kelly Cup . Then he played again for the Thoroughblades from Kentucky in the AHL.

For the 2000/01 season Roed signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League . There he shot all three hits against the Eisbären Berlin in the first game of the DEL promoted team , but they lost 3: 4. The left-shooter spent the next year with the Rockford IceHogs in the United Hockey League and SC Bietigheim-Bissingen in the 2nd Bundesliga . His last station was the Kalamazoo Wings from the UHL, after this season Roed ended his career.
