Peter Treichel

Peter Treichel (born February 18, 1956 in Braunschweig ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

Peter Treichel grew up in the western part of Braunschweig.

In 1972 Treichel joined the SPD and worked there with the Jusos . In 1974 he became a member of the Socialist Youth of Germany - Die Falken (SJD - Die Falken), where shortly afterwards he became an honorary board member in the Braunschweig-West local association, then in the Braunschweig district of the youth association and later in the federal executive committee.

After his graduation in 1976 he made the to 1977 civil service . Treichel then took up a teaching degree in German and history at the TU Braunschweig , during which he completed semesters abroad in Budapest and Pécs . He completed his studies in 1986 with the second state examination.

From 1987 to 1998, Treichel worked as a full-time secretary for international work for the Federal Association of the SJD - Die Falken, and from 1987 to 1991 he was also chairman of the IUSY control commission . During this time, his work was focused on the Middle East , Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe .

Since 1998 Treichel has worked as a consultant for the SPD party executive in the field of electronic communication - between 2002 and 2005 he was responsible for KAMPA , the SPD's election campaign headquarters . Since March 2019, Treichel has been working as a department head in the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).

From 2000 Treichel was chairman of the SPD French Buchholz department , and in 2009 he is a co-opted assessor in the Prenzlauer Berg NordOst department board. From 2001 to 2006 he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin - Pankow district council .
