Peter Truedsson (born July 25, 1961 ) is a Swedish football player . The striker , who played for the Swedish national team in seven international matches between 1982 and 1988 , won the national championship title with Östers IF in 1981 .

Career

Truedsson comes from the youth of IFK Karlshamn , which he left in early 1981 for the reigning Swedish champions Östers IF . In the 1981 season he moved up as a junior player in the competition team. He quickly established himself in the Allsvenskan and was instrumental in winning the championship again with seven goals this season in his debut season. In the following season he outstripped Jan Mattsson as the club's best internal goalscorer with eight goals this season , but the team around Thomas Ravelli , Karl-Gunnar Björklund and Mats Rohdin failed in the quarter-finals at Malmö FF in the championship finals . However, he had played his way into the national team and made his debut in May 1982 on the occasion of a 1-1 draw with Denmark through goals from Thomas Larsson and Frank Arnesen in the national jersey .

As a result, the club slipped in the league and was in danger of relegation in the 1984 season . With twelve goals this season, Truedsson was ultimately one of the guarantors of relegation, which was only achieved thanks to the better goal difference compared to the relegated IF Elfsborg and Gefle IF with equal points . After Bo Johansson took over the training of the club two years later, things went uphill again. Had a point missing in the first year to participate in the championship finals again, Truedsson qualified with the team around Jari Europaeus , Ulrik Jansson and Hans Eklund as fourth in the table in the 1987 season , but failed again in the semifinals at Malmö FF. The success could not be confirmed, however, at the end of the following season the club rose to the second division.

Truedsson left the club after 134 first division games and joined the second division club Mjällby AIF . With the former first division team, he first played for promotion to the Allsvenskan, before the club relegated to the third division at the end of the 1990 season.
